CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. - According to Director Shawn Rogers, the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with Leesburg Mayor Brandy Pierce the Town of Leesburg will be opening a warming center/shelter at the Leesburg FEMA Building this afternoon. The FEMA Building will open at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23 for anyone who needs shelter from the extremely cold weather that will occur late this evening and throughout the weekend. The warming center/ shelter will close at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26.

While we understand how much your fur babies mean to you, pets are not allowed inside the Leesburg FEMA building due to the risk of allergies and the possibility of someone getting injured, with the exception of certified service animals.
