CEDAR BLUFF, Ala. — Authorities have released the identities of the two individuals who were killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday on AL Highway 9 causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff.
The crash claimed the life of Jasmine D. Agan, 26, and Thomas D. Again, 25, both of Cedar Bluff.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble said Jasmine Agan was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse that collided head-on with a 2003 Ford Explore driven by a 16-year-old from Cedar Bluff.
Authorities reported that neither Jasmine Agan nor Thomas Agan was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 16-year-old driver of the Ford Explorer sustained serious injuries and was later airlifted to UAB Hospital.
The crash occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Alabama Highway 9 near the 263-mile marker, approximately two miles north of Centre. The roadway was temporarily closed on the causeway while first responders worked the scene, forcing motorists to take alternate routes.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident. Cedar Bluff Police, Cedar Bluff Fire, Centre Police, Atrium Floyd EMS, Cherokee County EMS, Life Flight 16, and the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
The young couple leaves behind small children. The Weekly Ledger News extends our deepest condolences to their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
