Two Killed, One Airlifted Following Two-Vehicle Crash on AL Hwy 9 Causeway

CEDAR BLUFF, Ala. — A fatal two-vehicle accident on the AL Highway 9 causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff has claimed the lives of two individuals, with a third person airlifted from the scene for medical treatment, according to authorities.

The crash occurred on the causeway section of AL Hwy 9, prompting law enforcement and emergency medical personnel closed the roadway for a period of time while first responders worked the scene. The closure extended between Blackwell’s Crossroads and AL Hwy 68 East, forcing motorists to seek alternate routes during the response and investigation.

Authorities report that the scene has since been cleared and normal traffic flow has resumed along the causeway. Drivers are still encouraged to use caution in the area as residual congestion may remain.

At this time, officials have not released the identities of the victims, nor have they provided additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
