Record-Breaking Cold Temperatures Sweep Across Central Alabama

CENTRAL ALABAMA — It’s been an exceptionally cold morning across north and central Alabama, with temperatures plunging to near-record — and in several places, record-breaking — lows.

Despite the frigid start, forecasters say residents can look forward to plenty of sunshine today and calmer winds compared to recent days. A gradual warming trend is expected through the rest of the week, with no rain chances in the forecast through at least Saturday.
