LEESBURG, Ala. - After a weekend filled with shopping and holiday excitement — from Black Friday deals to Cyber Monday clicks — Giving Tuesday invites us to pause and shift our focus back to what truly matters: helping others.

Observed annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement encouraging individuals to support the organizations that strengthen their communities.

Right here in Cherokee County, local nonprofits, churches, schools, volunteer fire departments, and community groups rely on donations to continue the vital work they do year-round. Whether it’s providing meals, caring for children, supporting the elderly, or giving animals a second chance, every act of generosity makes a lasting difference.

This year, The Weekly Ledger News is proud to spotlight a few remarkable organizations serving Cherokee County and making a profound local impact:

CSAF – Children and Seniors Assistance Foundation, Inc. (Christmas for Kids)

CSAF, Inc. serve children, seniors, veterans, widows and homeless of the community, providing for their fundamental needs throughout the year. They also have some amazing program they do throughout the year, like their Christmas for Kids Program.

To donate: Scan the official CSAF donation QR codes provided in this article.

These are just a few of the many meaningful organizations in our area. Cherokee County — and the surrounding communities — are filled with incredible nonprofits and volunteers who pour their hearts into serving others. We encourage residents to look into these and other local organizations to find a cause that resonates with them.

As we enter the holiday season, Giving Tuesday reminds us that the greatest gifts we can share are kindness, compassion, and hope. Together, we can help ensure that those who need support most continue to feel the love of a community that cares.
