NORTH CENTRAL, Ala. — The countdown is on as Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama officially kick off the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Season, a long-standing tradition that supports local girls while delighting cookie lovers across the region.

More than 4,500 Girl Scouts spanning 36 counties are expected to participate this year, with local troops projected to sell over one million packages of cookies during the 2026 season. Beginning February 6, Girl Scouts will be visible throughout neighborhoods at cookie booths set up at shopping centers, local businesses, and community events.

Cookie booths offer customers the opportunity to meet local Girl Scouts, support their activities, and stock up on their favorite treats. Cookies are priced at $6 per package.

The 2026 cookie lineup features classic favorites such as Thin Mints® and Samoas®, along with an exciting new addition — Exploremores™, inspired by the flavors of rocky road ice cream.

To add even more excitement this season, customers who purchase five packages of cookies can enter for a chance to win free Girl Scout Cookies for a year, receiving one package per week.

Beyond the cookies themselves, the program plays a vital role in youth development. Proceeds from cookie sales stay local and help fund troop activities, including educational trips, outdoor adventures, leadership development, and community service projects. Along the way, Girl Scouts gain valuable real-world skills such as goal setting, money management, decision-making, and customer communication.

Customers can also give back through the council’s Care to Share program, which allows cookies to be donated to local Hometown Heroes — including public safety personnel, healthcare workers, utility crews, educators, and other essential workers. Donations can be made in $6 increments at cookie booths or online, with cookies delivered by local Girl Scouts.

Residents can find nearby cookie booths or purchase cookies online by visiting girlscoutsnca.org/cookiefinder. Businesses interested in hosting a cookie booth or making bulk purchases may contact customercare@girlscoutsnca.org for more information.
