GADSDEN, Ala. — Gadsden city officials have unveiled a new marketing initiative, “Gotta Get to Gadsden,” aimed at attracting remote workers and individuals within commuting distance to make the city their home.

The campaign highlights Gadsden’s low cost of living, strong sense of community, quality schools, and family-friendly environment, positioning the city as an attractive alternative to larger metropolitan areas.

Mayor Craig Ford said Gadsden’s location is one of its greatest advantages.

“Gadsden is in an ideal location in northeast Alabama — you can easily get to major hubs like Birmingham or Huntsville, or even Chattanooga or Atlanta,” Ford said. “With today’s technology, you can have a great job without living in any of those places. You can live in Gadsden and enjoy our amazing natural resources, events, businesses, and quality of life while still being connected and working remotely.”

The initiative is being promoted through commercials and digital advertising. The City of Gadsden reported that the project was developed after receiving a $20,000 Innovate Alabama grant in 2024, with an additional $10,000 supporting the marketing rollout. The campaign is a partnership between the City of Gadsden and the Gadsden-Etowah Industrial Development Authority.

John Moore, the city’s director of commercial development and community affairs, said now is one of the best times to consider relocating to Gadsden.

“We’re really excited about what’s happening in Gadsden right now. It’s the best time ever to look at moving here,” Moore said, pointing to ongoing development and revitalization efforts.

Ford emphasized that Gadsden offers both opportunity and lifestyle.

“We’ve got the small-town charm with a big-city feel,” Ford said. “There’s a perfect opportunity here to put down family roots and build a life without sacrificing access to work resources. No matter whether it’s for work or play, you’ve ‘Gotta Get to Gadsden!’”
