FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A new national retailer is officially on the way to Fort Payne. City leaders have confirmed that Five Below will open a new store at DeKalb Plaza, further expanding the shopping options available to local residents.

Mayor Brian Baine announced the news this week, saying Five Below will join Marshalls as the latest major retailer to invest in the Fort Payne community. The addition is expected to bring increased foot traffic, new jobs, and enhanced retail variety to one of the city’s busiest commercial areas.

“We’re excited to welcome Five Below to Fort Payne,” Mayor Baine said. “Their decision to locate at DeKalb Plaza shows continued confidence in our community’s growth and the strong support of our residents. This is another great step in bringing more shopping opportunities to our city.”

Five Below, a fast-growing discount retailer known for offering a wide selection of trend-driven products priced at $5 and below — with some specialty items up to $10 — is expected to draw shoppers of all ages. The chain sells toys, tech accessories, beauty items, home décor, seasonal merchandise, candy, and more.

City officials say the development aligns with Fort Payne’s continued efforts to attract well-known brands and strengthen the local economy. Construction and opening timelines have not yet been released, but more details are expected soon.
