ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. — The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man last seen on New Year’s Day.

According to authorities, John William “Billy” Malcom, 35, was last seen on January 1 in the area of Alford’s Bend and Riverside Drive, near the Coosa River. Investigators say they currently have limited information surrounding his disappearance and are increasingly concerned for his safety.
Malcom is described as a white male, standing approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing around 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Sheriff Jonathan Horton said investigators are urging anyone who may have seen Malcom or has information related to his whereabouts to come forward.
“Even the smallest detail could be important,” Horton said. “We ask anyone who may have information to contact law enforcement as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office at 256-546-2825. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through Central Alabama Crime Stoppers.
