Cherokee County Woman Arrested Following Single Vehicle Accident

A Cherokee County woman was placed under arrest and transported to Cherokee County Detention Center Cherokee following a single vehicle accident accident around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Bluff Police Chief Brody Moses informed local radio station WEIS at the driver of a 2014 Nissan Sentra left Sewell Ferry Road, crashed into a sign post with three signs, then struck a tree. The driver was identified as 19 year old Jade Pruitt of Centre, she refused medical treatment and was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with Driving Under Influence-Controlled Substance, with a count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and one count of the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

As of Thursday morning, she remained lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center with bond yet to be set.
