Cedar Bluff Officers Arrested 70-Year-Old John David Green of Cedar Bluff for Sodomy Second Degree

CEDAR BLUFF, Ala. (WEIS) - According to Cedar Bluff Police Chief Jeremy Stepps, on Monday, February 8, Cedar Bluff officers arrested 70-year-old John David Green of Cedar Bluff for Sodomy Second Degree. Green was taken into custody and transported to the Cherokee County Jail, where he later bonded out on a $30,000 bond.

Cedar Bluff Police along with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and Summerville, Ga. Police continued to work the case as new information became available.

On Friday, February 9, a search warrant was signed and officers executed the search warrant at Green’s residence in Cedar Bluff.

Evidence was collected and after going through all evidence, Green was then arrested by Cedar Bluff officers with the assistance of the State Fire Marshall's Office on Tuesday, February 20. He was charged with 6 counts of Production of Child Pornography, 6 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and 4 counts of Sexual Abuse Second Degree.

Green was transported to the Cherokee County Jail where district Judge Wes Mobley set bond at $4 million cash.

The case remains under investigation and more charges may come.
