CENTRE- The Centre City Council gave their approval for the Cherokee Baptist Association to hold a Block Party on Estes Field on September 28 at 6:30 pm.
Council also approved for Athens Green of Boy Scout Troop 247 in Centre to build a special bridge between the tennis courts. The job is being supervised by the City’s Building Inspector, Raymond Mathews.
The Farmer's Market has received a second grant from the City. Council member Kay Davis said she hoped to get water to the Farmer's Market Pavilion.
The Annual Centre Fall Festival was discussed with Mayor Mansfield saying he hoped this one would be the biggest and best yet. Fall Festival is set for Saturday, October 1.
The next City Council meeting is set for Tuesday, September 27 with a planning session at 4:00 pm and a meeting at 5 pm.
