GADSDEN, Ala. - The City of Gadsden Mayor, Officials with the Industrial Development Authority, City Council, Etowah County Commissioners, Etowah County Mayors Association, Health Care Authority Members, Alabama Cancer Center Network Officials, DGI Officials met Thursday morning for the groundbreaking of the Alabama Cancer Center Network Treatment Center.
The 10,000-square-foot facility is to be built on First Street in Gadsden overlooking the Coosa River. It will be owned and operated by the Alabama Cancer Center Network with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and cat scan diagnostic equipment services.
There will be two cancer physicians and twenty employees to provide services to clients from the area.
Mayor Craig Ford told the group the location of this new facility is part of the City’s long-term plan to develop the Riverfront with Health Care, Entertainment, and Quality of Life Issues by relocating highway 411 and utilizing the health care facilities. Mayor Ford told the Alabama Cancer Center Network, “We are glad you are here and we look forward to growing with you”.
