ATTALLA, Ala. — Jesse Battles has announced he will continue his campaign for Alabama Senate District 10 as an independent candidate following his removal from the Republican primary ballot.

In a statement released to the public, Battles said his campaign has been built through direct conversations with residents across Northeast Alabama, emphasizing grassroots support from local families, neighbors, and community members concerned about the future of the district.

“After much prayer and many heartfelt conversations with the hardworking people of Northeast Alabama, I’m stepping forward to run for State Senate District 10 as an Independent,” Battles said.

Battles described the move as a continuation of his commitment to represent the people of the region, noting that his campaign remains focused on key local issues, including economic development, community priorities, and ensuring strong representation at the state level.

“This moment is bigger than any one setback,” he said. “It is about standing up for Northeast Alabama, our values, our future, and our right to be heard.”

As part of the process to qualify for the ballot as an independent candidate, Battles is currently working to gather the required petition signatures. According to campaign information, all signatures must be completed in wet ink on official forms in order to be considered valid.

Petition forms are currently available at several locations across the region, including:

  • El Tapatio 2 in Gadsden (near Top O’ the River)

  • Waffle King in Centre

  • MagsPies in Gallant

Additional locations are expected to be announced in the coming days as the campaign continues its outreach efforts.

Battles’ campaign stated it will remain focused on meeting ballot access requirements ahead of the upcoming election cycle, while continuing to engage with voters throughout Northeast Alabama.

“Our district deserves leadership rooted in integrity, guided by principle, and committed every single day to making this the best place to live, work, and raise a family,” Battles added.

Residents interested in learning more or participating in the petition process are encouraged to visit one of the listed locations.
