LEESBURG, AL – Fall is here, but it’s starting off hot here in Northeast Alabama is welcoming the season with a hot and humid start. Residents can expect above-average temperatures throughout the week, with only occasional chances of showers.


Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and a 20% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. East winds around 5 mph will shift south in the afternoon.


Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low near 66 and calm winds.


Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 91. Winds will be calm, becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.


Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, low around 67. Calm winds continue.


Wednesday: Partly sunny with a high near 92 and a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Light south winds will become southwest at 5–10 mph.


Wednesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 a.m., with a low near 67 and a 70% chance of precipitation.


Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms expected, high near 81, with an 80% chance of rain.


Thursday Night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m., mostly cloudy, low near 63.


Friday: Mostly sunny, high near 82, with a 30% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
