LEESBURG, Ala. - A hit-and-run accident occurred in Leesburg Tuesday evening around 4:15 p.m., causing a two-vehicle collision on the Leesburg bridge. A Silver Nissan Xterra was traveling southbound when another vehicle clipped the Xterra causing it to crossover into the northbound side of the bridge, rolling over, landing partially on the bridge's railing, and colliding and resting up against a white GMC Sierra that was traveling northbound.

Emergency personnel with the Leesburg Fire Department, Leesburg Police Department, and a highway patrol officer with the Alabama State Troopers Office responded to the call.

This is an ongoing investigation, and we will update with more details as they become available.
