Gadsden State Offering Classes in Stained Glass Art

GADSDEN – Gadsden State Community College’s Continuing Education Program is offering “Introduction to Stained Glass Art — Easy Christmas-Stained Glass Ornaments.” There are a number of session dates to choose from beginning Nov. 29. Classes will be held at the Glass Room Studio, 401 Duncan St., Gadsden.

Students will be introduced to the art of stained glass by the instructor through hands-on instruction. Using the Tiffany Foil Method, workshop participants will complete and design two stained glass Christmas ornament-size pieces – a Christmas tree and an old-fashioned Christmas bulb.

All materials and use of studio tools are included in the workshop registration. Aprons will be provided. Closed-toe shoes are required, and jewelry should be limited. Beverages may be brought in a closed-top container, but no food is allowed in the studio.

Registration cost is $50 for a four-hour workshop with a limit of two students per session. Session dates and times are:

· Nov. 29 – 1-5 p.m.

· Nov. 30 – 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

· Dec. 6 – 1- 5 p.m.

· Dec. 7 – 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

· Dec. 10 – 10 a.m.-2 pm.

· Dec. 13 – 1- 5 p.m.

· Dec. 14 – 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
