FLOYD COUNTY, GA - According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, a body found in the Etowah River has been sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy and identification.

Proctor said that the body of an unidentified homeless white man was found on the bank of the river about 200 feet from RiverDog Outpost on Sunday.

Proctor said that the man appeared to be somewhere between 30 and 40 years of age.

Reports added that the cause of death is unknown but foul play is not suspected.

Procter went on to say that it appeared that the man fell into the river and was able to get out but later died on the bank.
