CHEROKEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION (CHILD NUTRITION)- The state of Alabama has been approved by the USDA to issue P-EBT benefits for this summer to families qualifying for free or reduced meals. Benefits will be issued during the month of September in the amount of $391 per eligible child.
2022-2023 meal applications will be available online on or soon after July 1 at www.myschoolapps.com.
This is the fastest and best option to submit your meal application. Paper applications will also be sent home with students at the beginning of school to be filled out and returned. It is URGENT that ALL applications be completed and submitted BEFORE 8/21/2022 to guarantee time for processing before the August 31 deadline. If you receive a letter after July 1, 2022, that your child is directly certified and is not required to submit a meal application, they will automatically qualify for this P-EBT benefit and you do not need to do anything further.
As of right now, universal free meals are set to end prior to the upcoming school year so YOU MUST submit a meal application or be notified your child is directly certified to receive
free or reduced meals and to receive this P-EBT benefit for the summer months. This makes it more important than ever to fill out and return meal applications, even if you are not sure you will qualify!
