Two Arrested in Limestone County Child Exploitation Investigation, ALEA Says

ICAC Task Force executes two search warrants; investigation originated from cyber tips provided by National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Two men were arrested on multiple charges following separate search warrants executed in Limestone County as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Special Agents with ALEA’s State Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, working alongside local and federal law enforcement partners, executed two search warrants Thursday, Aug. 20, related to suspected child sexual abuse material, commonly referred to by law enforcement as CSAM.

The investigation resulted in the arrests of Randall Dorian Register, 18, and Clyde Norman Reneau III, 22, according to ALEA.

First Search Warrant Executed in Tanner

According to ALEA, investigators executed the first search warrant in the Swan Creek community of Tanner in Limestone County.

As a result of that search, Register was arrested and charged with 10 counts of possession of obscene material with intent to disseminate, ALEA reported.

Register was subsequently booked into the Limestone County Jail.

Second Search Leads to Additional Arrest

A second search warrant was executed in the Piney Chapel community off Pressnell Road, also in Limestone County.

ALEA identified Reneau as a registered sex offender and said he was arrested on two counts of facilitating the unlawful sexual contact with a child and four counts of electronic solicitation of a minor.

Reneau was also booked into the Limestone County Jail.

The charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

Cyber Tips Led to Investigation

ALEA said the investigation resulted from cyber tips provided by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

The Alabama ICAC Task Force consists of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout the state that work together to investigate and prosecute crimes involving the exploitation of children.

ALEA specifically credited the FBI's Huntsville at Redstone Arsenal Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Limestone County Sheriff's Office, Madison County Sheriff's Office and Huntsville Police Department for assisting with the investigation.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information was available for release at this time.
