Three Injured, Including Two Juveniles, After Vehicle Leaves Roadway in Centre Crash

CENTRE, Ala. — Three people, including two juveniles, sustained minor injuries Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash along Cedar Bluff Highway in Centre that temporarily disrupted traffic in both directions.

The crash reportedly occurred in the 3200 block of Cedar Bluff Highway on the Centre side of the causeway, near Midway Storage.

A white Toyota sedan and a gray hatchback were involved in the collision. Following the impact, the hatchback left the roadway and came to rest in the front yard of a nearby residence.

Three occupants of the hatchback — the driver and two juveniles — sustained minor injuries. Emergency medical personnel evaluated and treated all three at the scene. None of the occupants required transport to a hospital.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including the Centre Police Department, Centre Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office,  and Atrium Floyd EMS.

Traffic was briefly stopped in both directions as first responders worked at the scene and ensured emergency personnel had adequate access. Responders later began allowing vehicles through the area one direction at a time while the scene was being cleared.

No additional injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the crash has not been determined. The incident remains under investigation.
