Sen. Andrew Jones And Rep. Ginny Shaver Present Grant Checks To Cherokee Co. Fire Departments

WEIS- Senator Andrew Jones and Representative Ginny Shaver were on hand at the monthly meeting of the Cherokee County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments Monday evening to present grant checks to all of Cherokee County’s Volunteer Fire Departments.

Through this annual support program, the State of Alabama provides much needed funding to each of the state’s nearly 1000 volunteer fire departments. This year departments received checks in the amount of $1,958.76.

After the meeting we caught up with McCord’s Fire Department Chief Rich Lindsey on the importance of this funding.
