CENTRE, Ala. – Morning commuters witnessed a dramatic scene Wednesday after a pickup truck rolled over along the Clarence E. Chesnut Jr. Bypass, leaving one man injured and prompting an emergency response.
The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. at the Emblem Bank property. According to reports, a silver Dodge truck traveling toward Highway 411 veered off the roadway, lost control, and tumbled down an embankment before resting on its side beneath the Emblem Bank sign.

The driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, had to be extracted by rescue crews. Witnesses said he remained conscious and alert, speaking with first responders as they worked to free him. After receiving treatment at the scene, he was transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to a local hospital for further evaluation.
The crash temporarily reduced traffic on the bypass to one lane as Centre Police, Centre Fire Department, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and Atrium Floyd EMS worked the scene.
