Rainbow City Police to Host First Annual Lights and Sirens Run

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. — The Rainbow City Police Department is inviting the community to participate in its inaugural Lights and Sirens Run, an event benefiting Explorer Post 2729. The run will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., beginning and ending at Rainbow City Fire Station 2, located at 1400 Riddles Bend Road.
Participants can choose from several race options:
5K & 10K – $25
1-Mile Fun Run – $15
Virtual 5K – $10
The course will wind through the scenic Riddles Bend community, offering views of farmland, waterways, and neighborhood homes. The event welcomes both serious runners and families looking for a fun, community-oriented activity.
Event highlights include professionally timed 5K and 10K races, a family-friendly Fun Run, booths from police and Explorer members, community vendors, post-race refreshments, and an awards ceremony recognizing top finishers.
All proceeds will support the Rainbow City Police Explorers program, which prepares young men and women for careers in law enforcement through mentorship, leadership training, and community service opportunities.
