GADSDEN, Ala. – Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the Gadsden Police Department are looking into an officer-involved shooting.
On Friday, January 6 around 1:39 a.m. Gadsden Police responded to the scene on Hinsdale Avenue where police say Cody Stewart, 28, died due to an officer-involved shooting.
No officers were hurt, and no other details have been given.
The Gadsden Police Department requested Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to look into the case.
Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing. Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office.
