Mink Creek Public Boat Ramp on Lake Guntersville just south of Scottsboro, Alabama, will close for renovations on July 26, 2022. During the closure, a new two-lane launching slab will be installed, and the parking area will be expanded to accommodate approximately 40 trucks and trailers. The entrance road to the facility will also be widened to allow two-way traffic.

The renovation project is a joint effort of the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) and the City of Scottsboro. The facility is estimated to reopen in the fall or winter of 2022.

WFF operates 20 additional free public boat ramps on Guntersville Reservoir. For information and locations of alternate public access areas, visit www.outdooralabama.com/freshwater-boating-access or call the WFF Fisheries Section at (334) 242-3471.

Partial funding for this project was provided through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which is supported through excise taxes on the sale of outboard motor fuel, fishing equipment, and the sale of Alabama fishing licenses.

ADCNR promotes wise stewardship, management, and enjoyment of Alabama’s natural resources through four divisions: Marine Resources, State Lands, State Parks, and Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.
