The Cherokee County man who was being sought for questioning in connection with a recent murder case, is now behind bars.
Nicholas Silvers, 39, a resident of Gaylesville, was booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center at around 10:35 Monday night on a Burglary 3rd Degree charge, he was described as a “person of interest” in a news release issued by Sheriff Jeff Shaver on April 21, 2022.
Meanwhile Eric Hooper, 28 of Centre stands charged with Murder, and also Receiving Stolen Property 3rd Degree, according to Chief Deputy Josh Summerford Hooper was extradited from Polk County, Georgia, and placed in the Cherokee County Detention Center on Thursday, April 14, where he remains on bond of $1,500,000.
He is charged in connection with the homicide of 40 year old Lachancey Williams of a Cedartown, GA address.
Williams body was found in a tool box, by crews which were doing road work in Polk County, along Eason Hill Road, back on March 15.
It’s believed the murder actually occurred just outside of Centre.
