Leesburg Man Fatally Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A Cherokee County man was fatally injured in a single motorcycle accident taking place on Saturday evening around 6:40 pm.

According to reports from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency – 60-year-old Bobby Dean Garmon of Leesburg was killed, when his 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a culvert.

Garmon was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident took place on Centre Road near Ballplay Drive – roughly four miles north of Hokes Bluff in Etowah County.

No additional information has been released at this time.

The wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
