Investigation Leads to Arrest in Child Sexual Abuse Material Case

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. — An investigation conducted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in an arrest in a case involving the dissemination of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), according to officials.

The case was assigned to investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office who are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Authorities said the investigation centered on the alleged sharing of CSAM.


As a result of the investigation, Brandon Lee Wynn, of Centre, was arrested and charged with one count of Dissemination. Officials confirmed that Wynn is also facing multiple related charges through the Centre Police Department stemming from similar offenses.


The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities stated that additional charges may be filed as the case progresses.


Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver expressed appreciation for the investigators involved in the case, acknowledging the challenging nature of these investigations and their role in protecting children and the community.
