Horses Killed When Hit by Garbage Truck on Friday

GAYLESVILLE - Shortly before 6:00 am on Friday two horses were struck and killed by a garbage truck, near Bells Crossroads in the Gaylesville area.

Alabama State Troopers and the Gaylesville Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Once on the scene, the area of Highway 68 East was closed for a short period of time due to the accident.

Reports indicated that the driver of the garbage truck was merely shaken up by the incident.

The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers (ALEA).
