GADSDEN - On Sunday, October 30, around 9:20 pm in the Oakleigh Estates a 61-year-old man was shot during what police described as a home invasion robbery at the residence on Carolyn Lane where he and two other people were staying.
Cornell Toney, 61, died at a local hospital.
"He made it outside," Jackson said of Toney, ran to a neighbor's house, and collapsed in their yard. The two other residents escaped unharmed.
Jackson said capital murder warrants have been obtained on two suspects, thanks to efforts by investigators.
The investigation into Toney's death continues.
Gadsden police are still searching for the two suspects after a deadly home invasion in Oakleigh Estates Sunday night.
