Fort Payne Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 11

FORT PAYNE, Ala. — A 70-year-old Fort Payne woman was killed Friday evening in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 11 in DeKalb County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, near the 223-mile marker of U.S. 11, approximately one mile south of Fort Payne.
According to ALEA, Colleen K. Jones, 70, of Fort Payne, was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry when her vehicle was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by John David Andrew Twilley, 40, of Fort Payne.
Following the initial impact, Jones’ Camry was struck by a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria LX driven by Matthew C. Dunn, 29, of Cedar Bluff.
Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash has been released at this time.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
