Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Alabama Hwy. 9 Kills Cedar Bluff Woman

CEDAR BLUFF, Ala. - According to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a two-vehicle crash that happened at approximately 9:19 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, has claimed the life of a Cedar Bluff woman.

Clair M. Bryant, 22, was fatally injured when the 2008 Jeep Cherokee that she was driving collided head-on with the 2020 Dodge Durango driven by Taleena L. Kelley, 53, of Cave Spring, Georgia.


Bryant was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kelley was injured and transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, in Rome.


The crash occurred on Alabama Hwy. 9 near County Road 80 about three miles north of Cedar Bluff in Cherokee County.


Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
