Cherokee County - According to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:21 am Friday, July 22, has claimed the life of a Centre man.
James David Kirby, 72, was critically injured when the 2005 Ford F150 that he was driving, left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Kirby was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Floyd Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The crash occurred on Cherokee County 16 near Cherokee County 22, approximately five miles east of Centre, in Cherokee County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
