GADSDEN, Ala. — Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon W. Horton has formally announced his intention to seek a third term in office, emphasizing continued dedication to public safety, accountable leadership, and service to the people of Etowah County.
Sheriff Horton, who has served since January 14, 2019, said his decision to run again is rooted in a desire to build upon the initiatives and partnerships established during his tenure. His campaign theme, “A
Sheriff for ALL with a Servant’s Heart,” underscores his focus on fairness, accessibility, and collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, and residents.
“Serving as your Sheriff has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Horton said in a statement. “Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, we have made significant strides. I am grateful for the trust our citizens have placed in us, and I am asking for the opportunity to continue serving our community.”
Horton expressed appreciation for the support he has received from citizens across the county and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that every resident feels heard, respected, and protected.
