T.L. Sullivan | The Weekly Ledger News | Local News

CENTRE, Ala. — Local residents will have the opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking statewide and federal office when the Cherokee County Republican Party hosts its January GOP Breakfast later this month.

The breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, and will feature two guest speakers actively campaigning in upcoming elections. Jeremy Oden, a candidate for Alabama Public Service Commission Place One, will address issues impacting utilities, infrastructure, and regulatory oversight throughout the state.

Following Oden, Congressman Barry Moore, who is currently a candidate for the United States Senate, is expected to discuss national priorities, current issues facing the country, and key points from his campaign platform.

The event will be held at Easy Street, located at 1605 West Main Street in Centre. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m., with the program beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Organizers say the monthly GOP breakfast is designed to promote civic engagement by giving voters a direct opportunity to hear from candidates, ask questions, and learn more about where they stand on important issues ahead of upcoming elections.

Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Monday, January 19, by emailing cherokeegopbreakfast@gmail.com. Attendees will be responsible for the cost of their meal.

The Cherokee County Republican Party encourages community members interested in local, state, and national politics to attend and take part in the discussion.
