Cherokee County Board of Education to Meet Monday, December 8

CENTRE, Ala. — The Cherokee County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Board’s Central Office, located at 200 Armory Road in Centre.

The meeting agenda includes routine business items such as approval of previous minutes, adopting the agenda, and reviewing current job postings. Several key action items and informational reports are also scheduled.

Agenda Highlights Include:

• Updated Travel Procedures

  Board members will discuss and consider revisions to current travel policies and procedures for district staff.

  
  

• Cenergistic Energy Program Report & Energy Star Awards

  A report on district-wide energy monitoring initiatives along with recognition for facilities achieving higher efficiency standards.

  
  

• Special Education and Student Services Agreements

  The board will consider an agreement with Act Behavior Consulting, LLC, a Transition Specialist Memorandum of Agreement, and a contract with Therapy Junction, LLC, expanding supports for students with behavioral and developmental needs.

  
  

• Partnership With Northeast Alabama Community College

  An updated cooperative agreement supporting dual enrollment, workforce pathways, and career readiness opportunities.

• Board Actions on Personnel, Travel & Professional Development

  Routine votes related to staffing updates, approved travel, and professional development requests.

The meeting will begin with public participation, pending compliance with Board policy, and will conclude with a Superintendent’s update and any additional matters.
