CENTRE, Ala. – The Cherokee County Board of Education convened for a special called meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Central Office in Centre. The meeting, which began at 3:00 p.m., included a short agenda focused primarily on personnel decisions.
Following roll call and the adoption of the agenda, the board approved two personnel placements:
Ronnie Crabtree was appointed as the new Principal at Gaylesville School, effective October 1, 2025.
Demi Jo Johnson was approved as a Gifted Exceptionality Paraprofessional, effective September 9, 2025.
These appointments mark significant steps in filling key positions within the district as schools continue their focus on academic growth and student support.
The meeting concluded with the announcement that the next regular board meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Central Office.
