GADSDEN, Ala. — Burlington officially opened its newest Alabama location Friday, Sept. 4, at Coosa Town Center in Gadsden, bringing a new retail option, more than 60 jobs and a $5,000 investment in a local elementary school.
The off-price retailer is located at 324 E. Meighan Blvd. and marks Burlington’s 13th store in Alabama.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday to mark Burlington’s official opening in Gadsden, with city officials, community representatives and Burlington team members gathering outside the new Coosa Town Center location.

During the event, Burlington also formally presented a $5,000 donation to Oscar Adams Elementary School, highlighting the company’s investment not only in local jobs, but also in Gadsden students.
City leaders welcomed Burlington to the community while highlighting both the economic impact of the new store and the company’s support for local students.
“Thank you for also investing in our students with a $5,000 donation to Oscar Adams Elementary School,” the City of Gadsden stated on social media. “We’re grateful to have businesses that invest in Gadsden and give back to our community.”
Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford also celebrated the opening and the new employment opportunities being created.
“This is great news for Gadsden! I’m proud of the work my team and I are doing to bring developments that invest in our residents and our community,” Ford said. “Thank you to Burlington for choosing Gadsden, bringing 60+ jobs to our residents, and investing $5,000 in Oscar Adams Elementary School. We’re excited to have you here and look forward to your future in Gadsden!”
Hiring efforts also remain visible at the new location, with Burlington continuing to promote employment opportunities at the store.
As part of the grand-opening celebration, the first 100 customers ages 18 and older on Friday, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5, will receive a $10 Bonus Card.
The Gadsden store features Burlington’s newer store design, with wider, more organized aisles and improved signage.
Regular store hours are:
Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Burlington plans to open 110 net new stores nationwide in 2026. More than half of the company’s existing stores have already been converted to the newer layout, with the remaining locations expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The addition of Burlington at Coosa Town Center brings another major retailer to Gadsden while creating new employment opportunities and expanding shopping options for residents throughout Etowah County and surrounding communities.
