Authorities Seek the Public’s Help in Locating a Missing Etowah County Woman

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. — The Sardis Police Department and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing woman last seen on Sunday evening.

Betty Stephens, 70, was last seen around 5:30 p.m. walking in an unspecified area. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Stephens suffers from dementia, and her direction of travel is currently unknown.


She is described as being short in stature with reddish-gray hair. At the time of her disappearance, Stephens was wearing black leggings and a black top.


Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office at 256-546-2825 or call 911 immediately.
