4-year-old suffers self-inflicted gunshot wound in north Alabama

A 4 year old child has been airlifted to a local hospital after suffering an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday, the Jackson County sheriff’s office said.

The incident occurred at a residence in Dutton, which is located on Sand Mountain near Scottsboro.

The sheriff’s department said no other information has been released at this time.
