Two Found Dead in Coats Bend Community

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (TWLN) — Authorities are investigating after a man and woman were discovered dead around 12 p.m. Sunday in the Coats Bend community of Etowah County.


Deputies with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Old Highway 411, where the pair were pronounced dead at the scene.


The sheriff’s office reported that the area was secured while investigators conducted a preliminary examination. The Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics and the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office also assisted in the investigation.


As of Monday, officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
