Two Centre Women Arrested in Rome Following Traffic Stop; Methamphetamine Recovered

ROME, Ga. — Two Centre women were arrested in Rome after a traffic stop resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to reports from Coosa Valley News.
Authorities identified the suspects as Amy Darlene Mayes, 43, and Amanda Dawn Studdard, 43.

Officers reported that during the traffic stop, conducted near the intersection of Calhoun Avenue and Grady Avenue, Mayes allegedly attempted to avoid responsibility by swapping seats with another occupant as the vehicle was being pulled over.
During the subsequent investigation, officers reportedly located methamphetamine and a glass pipe containing suspected drug residue inside the vehicle.
Mayes is facing charges of:
Possession of methamphetamine
Obstruction
Possession of drug-related objects
Permitting an unlicensed person to drive
Studdard was charged with:
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of drug-related objects
Both women were transported to Floyd County jail following their arrests. Authorities say the case remains under investigation.
