Sunday, September 21 is Back to Church Sunday: Life is Better Together

This Sunday, September 21, 2025, churches across the nation will join together in celebrating Back to Church Sunday, a movement dedicated to reconnecting people with faith and community.

Launched in 2009 as a simple invitation to return to church, the initiative has grown into a nationwide effort that now marks its 16th year. More than 5 million people have participated through over 40,000 congregations, making it one of the most significant outreach movements in the country. Research shows that eight out of ten people say they would attend church if invited—many are simply waiting for that open door.

That’s why The Weekly Ledger News would like to extend a heartfelt invitation: even if you haven’t been personally asked, consider visiting a local church this Sunday to experience the encouragement, fellowship, and hope it offers. To make it easier, we’ve created a Church Directory tab on our website with a list of local and area congregations.

This year’s theme, “Life is Better Together,” highlights the truth that faith and life are not meant to be lived alone. Church provides a space for genuine connection, a source of encouragement in difficult times, and a place to celebrate life’s joys in community.
