Structure Fire in Woods Bend Community; Home Total Loss

WOOD BEND, Ala. — Multiple agencies responded Tuesday morning to a structure fire on County Road 38 in the Woods Bend community, south of Centre.






Officials said the call came in during the morning hours, prompting a multi-agency response. Units from the Centre Fire Department, Leesburg Fire Department, Ellisville Fire Department, Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, Atrium Floyd EMS, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.



When firefighters arrived, the residence was already heavily involved. Emergency personnel worked to bring the fire under control, but the structure was ultimately deemed a total loss. Crews were still extinguishing hot spots at approximately 11:30 a.m.



Authorities confirmed that no one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. It was also reported that the structure did not have active power or water service.


The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
