Juvenile Charged with Murder After 10-Year-Old Girl Found Slain in Piedmont

PIEDMONT, Ala. — A late-night incident in Piedmont has left a community grieving after a 10-year-old girl was found deceased inside a residence, according to the Piedmont Police Department.

Police Chief Nathan Johnson confirmed that officers were dispatched at approximately 10:51 p.m. on Friday, April 17, in response to a report of a missing juvenile. Upon arrival at the home, officers made the tragic discovery of a deceased juvenile inside.

Following an initial investigation, authorities have taken another juvenile into custody in connection with the case. The individual has been formally charged with murder.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of minors, officials have not released the names or additional identifying details of those involved.
