19-Year-Old Dawson Man Killed in DeKalb County Crash; Second Driver Airlifted

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. — A two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 19-year-old Dawson man and left another driver seriously injured, according to information provided to The Weekly Ledger News by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, on Alabama Highway 75 near the 76 mile marker, approximately one mile north of the Lakeview city limits in DeKalb County.

ALEA said Noah C. Parr, 19, of Dawson, was fatally injured when the 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup he was driving was struck by a 2017 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Cody A. King, 30, of Collinsville.

Parr was pronounced deceased at the scene.

King was initially transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne for medical treatment. According to statements shared by members of King’s family on social media, he was later airlifted to Erlanger for further treatment and remains on life support. His family is asking the community to keep him in their prayers. King is a husband and father of two small children.

No additional details regarding the circumstances of the crash have been released.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
