World Elder Abuse Awareness Day- June 15.

Cherokee County DHR will be placing purple bows around Centre in honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day which is June 15.

The purpose of World Elder Aduse Awareness Day is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of aduse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the culture, social, economic and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.

When you see these purple bows they will be a spotlight on the mistreatment of older adults, and to communicate how individuals, organizations and communities can take actions against elder abuse now.
