Woman arrested for aggravated child abuse of infant granddaughter

GADSDEN (WBMA) — Wanda Crouch, 75, was arrested Tuesday for aggravated child abuse, according to a release from the Gadsden Police Department. Crouch is being held at Etowah County Jail on a $100,000 bond.


Police said they received a report from the Department of Human Resources expressing concern about the well-being of a female infant that was residing with Crouch, the child's grandmother. An investigation was conducted and a warrant was obtained for Crouch's arrest.


The infant was evaluated at a hospital and placed in the custody of Mississippi DHR.


That is all of the details at this time as the incident is still under investigation.
