The Weiss Lake Music Festival is proud to present The Oak Ridge Boys “Front Porch Singing Tour” live at Estes Field in Centre on Saturday, August 6. Gates open at 4 pm.
The group has scored 5-time Grammy Award-winning, 12 gold, three platinum, and one double platinum album— plus one double platinum single— and had more than a dozen national Number One singles and over 30 Top Ten hits. The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of Country hits and a Number One Pop smash, earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards, and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Every time they step before an audience, the Oaks bring four decades of charted singles, and 50 years of tradition, to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere.
Joining The Oaks will be Nashville’s best-kept secret: Hannah Dasher.
Aside from Hannah’s work ethic, her strong, non-conforming, swaggy lyrics set her apart from her peers early on, earning her the nickname Hannah Damn Dasher. Accompanying her big hair and her larger-than-life personality is a voice that’s even bigger. Listen closely and you’ll hear remnants of Lorrie Morgan, Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin and Alan Jackson. It all makes for a sound that’s familiar -- like your favorite 90’s country -- yet uniquely fresh.
Centre native Chad Steed will also be performing. Growing up in a small town in northeast Alabama, Chad Steed has been deeply rooted in music since childhood. Surrounded by the sounds of Folk, Blue Grass, Country, Southern Rock, and Gospel music, Chad quickly developed a love for all genres.
Drawing much inspiration from his Southern Baptist upbringing, Chad's soulful, gospel style pairs well with his country influences like Alabama and Travis Tritt.
In 2016, Chad left the world of higher education to pursue his love of performing. After nearly a decade in academia, Chad followed his passion and found himself at Dollywood, Dolly Parton's Theme Park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. While at Dollywood, Chad performed on numerous stages and showcased his ability to engage audiences with his electric personality and captivating foot work. In 2018, Chad was nominated for an IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Award for Performer of the Year.
Chad has continually been praised for his energy and charisma, bringing his southern charm and boyish excitement to every performance.
Leesburg singer/songwriter Logan Graves will also be performing.
Cedar Bluff singer/songwriter Aubrey Itson will be performing as well.
Admission to the show is absolutely free! No coolers or alcohol will be allowed. Vendors will be available.
Bring a lawn chair and join us on Saturday, August 6 at Estes Field. Gates will open at 4 p.m. Show starts at 6 p.m.
